Dallas is a great place for families to live. There are so many fun family-friendly things to do in the area as well as plenty of fantastic schools. The area you choose really depends on what type of vibe you're looking for. Here are some of the top places to look.

Lake Highlands

If you're looking for the suburb feel without leaving the city, Lake Highlands is perfect. You'll find local businesses that have been around for decades sponsoring sports teams from the nearby schools. You may find some neighborhood streets close down at times to host block parties. There are so many events in the area to support local schools and businesses, so it's easy to meet people. Lake Highlands is also right next to White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum, so if you enjoy getting out in nature, this is a great area for you. Be sure to consider homes for sale Dallas in lake highland neighborhood!

Although slightly north of Dallas, Frisco is one of the most sought after suburbs in the metroplex. It has so many wonderful neighborhoods and top-notch schools. It's home to the Dallas Cowboys practice stadium where you can occasionally go watch the players for free. There is also plenty of great shopping to be done and an endless number of restaurants. It's an easy drive into the city, but Frisco offers so much that you'll likely find you never need to leave.

Highland Park

If you want to be right in the city, Highland Park may be right for you. It's only minutes from uptown and downtown Dallas. You'll be close to all of the best shopping, museums and restaurants. Although it's right in the middle of Dallas, Highland Park is actually its own school district, which is known for being one of the best in the state. Highland Park is considered Luxury Dallas Real Estate, so it can be difficult to find available homes in the area. Be sure to consult with your realtor to help you find new listings.

If you still aren't sure where to pick, talk to your real estate agent about what exactly you're looking for. He or she will be able to steer you in the right direction depending on what you want. After all, the most important thing is that you're happy with where you and your family end up.
