The Dallas Cowboys Offseason

The Dallas Cowboys Offseason

The NFL Draft recently took place and without any live sports on TV, the NFL didn’t have much competition for viewers, bringing in a record 55 million fans who were eager to see what would happen to their favorite team. This includes America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys. The offseason is a time for many people to plan their trips to see games in the fall. This includes Dallas Cowboys ticket packages and hotels. Many people were tuned in to see what the Cowboys would do and the draft did not disappoint!

Adding a Receiver in the First Round

One of the major moves the Dallas Cowboys made was in the first round. They already had a solid receiver corps, having just extended Amari Cooper as the number one option along with Michael Gallup lined up on the opposite side. In the first round, Jerry Jones (the owner, president, and GM of the Dallas Cowboys) decided to go with the best player available and grabbed CeeDee Lamb out of the University of Oklahoma. In the eyes of many, he was the best received in the class, being mentioned with Henry Ruggs III and Jerry Jeudy. Analysts seemed to praise the Dallas Cowboys for selecting Lamb; however, the major question mark is who is going to throw the ball to this loaded receiving corps.

Dak Prescott Still Not Extended

One of the major issues the Dallas Cowboys have had during the offseason is getting a deal done with their quarterback. Dak Prescott was a late pick out of Mississippi State, meaning he hasn’t had a chance to cash in with a big contract just yet. Now, he is up for an extension and he expects to be paid as one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL.

While Jerry Jones has opened up the pocketbook to pay people such as DeMarcus Lawrence, Ezekiel Elliot, and Amari Cooper, he appears reluctant to pay Dak Prescott. While Dak’s off-the-field antics during the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t help his case, he has largely been a model citizen. Therefore, Dallas Cowboys fans are anxious to get this deal done and lock in Dak as their quarterback of the future.
