Look, I know trying to bring in extra money for your family is no small feat. When we went from a two-income household down to a one-income household, the transition really put a strange on our finances and our marriage.
We had to make the incredibly difficult decision to sell our dream home and leave the expensive area we loved. It wasn’t easy, but it became a necessity since we decided to have my wife stay at home with our son.
Since making the commitment, we began to thrive. However, it was slow process. We had to pay off $30,000 in credit card debt … then another $10,000 after that. We kept thinking we could live our old lifestyle of eating out and buying whatever we wanted, but that wasn’t sustainable.
We had to downsize our lifestyle just like we downsized our income.
Why You Need A Side Hustle
Fortunately, for me, I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart. While my day job pays for our daily lifestyle, the side hustle I’ve started pays for extra things. In fact, it helped us pay for Christmas in 2017 and pay off some of our debt. We’re well on our way to re-building our emergency fund as a result.
Between December 2017 and January 2018, I was able to make $10,000 from my blog. It’s only the beginning — and it’s been life changing.
My point in telling you all of this is … you can start a side business that brings in more money for your family. You can pay off debt. You can get your financial ship upright and thriving.
It’s all possible.
But, you have to follow a process to get there. I’m all about the process and laying a foundation.

What Will Your Legacy Be?
At the end of the day, the reason I’m doing all this is for my family. I want to spend more time with them and leave a legacy for my children.
That’s why I get up at 4 am or 5 am every day — even weekends and off days. Technically, there are no “off days.” Rather, it’s just taking care of the priority of the day.
And it’s in those day to day moments of stuff for the day job, then family responsibilities, and side hustle tasks that the legacy gets built. The daily grind produces the ultimate results of your life.
For you, will it be a life well-lived? Or will you have regrets?
I sure as hell won’t regret taking a chance at a better life for myself and family. I wasn’t made to be confined in a cubicle.
