College students have been graduating into an increasingly uncertain world in recent years. That’s led to many of them re-considering their career path. The majority, however, wouldn’t have the time or resources to go back to university and reskill.
Despite this, they still might be unable to start a career in the field that they graduated in. That can seem like an impossible situation. There are a few options that you should be aware of. These are possible career paths for fresh college graduates that require relatively little training.
As such, you shouldn’t have many barriers to starting one of these careers.
You might think that you’ll need multiple certificates and a lot of training to become a teacher. While you’ll need some of this no matter where you teach, it mightn’t be as difficult as you’d expect. There are multiple organizations, such as Teach for America, that can help you do so.
These specialize in different areas, with some working in multiple cities and countries. Regardless of whether you want to teach children in a low-income neighborhood or abroad, you can do so.
It’s worth noting, however, that you’ll need to get training and pass background checks before you can do so. If you’re able, though, then this can be quite a rewarding career path for college graduates.
A career in sales is an option for everybody. That’s because there are almost no barriers to entry, so anybody could do it. All you’ll need is an ability to talk to people. While this can get a bad reputation among customers, things are a lot better than you’d expect.
There’s also the possibility for significant financial compensation over time. That’s alongside the benefits that many companies offer their salespeople.
If you’re a good organizer, have excellent communications skills, and are great with people, then you might want to consider project management as a career path. These can be dynamic roles, which makes them attractive on a day-to-day basis.
Many can also be done remotely, which will be an attractive option for many college graduates. Salaries on the lower end can vary between $40,000 and $60,000, although this goes up dramatically over time.
Many people often don’t consider an administrative assistant for their career. It can have multiple benefits, however, especially for recent college graduates. The average starting salary, for instance, is over $35,000.
While that depends on where you live, it’s still a significant sum for recent graduates. It could also let you explore industries that you might be curious about. There’s also a considerable amount of room for promotion, depending on which company you join.
Fresh college graduates can often find themselves in an impossible situation. If they cannot get a job in their chosen field, they mightn’t know what to do. Thankfully, each of the above should be feasible career options for almost anybody.
That doesn’t mean that they won’t be fulfilling or interesting. While they’ll each have their challenges, they can also have their unique benefits. With a bit of research and some time, you could find yourself on the path on a rewarding career path.
